Hi Teresa,

I've been following your posts recently and, living in Belgium myself, I can only enjoy the cigar-beer pairings. That being said, I usually pair my cigars with two fingers of Havana Club (Barrel Proof) rum or a nice old Rhum agricole Clément from Martinique. Cheers!

Oooh, I do like the idea of a nice rum with a Serie V. Coffee is always wonderful as well, though I must admit I enjoy a nice Cuban espresso which never makes the length of the cigar, ha.

I haven't tried the Left Hand Milk Stout, though I know I've enjoyed Young's Double Chocolate stout on many occasions. I'll have to give that a taste. This pairing for the video was pure chance and I must say I enjoyed the results. It was going to be a hit or a miss and it was a pleasant surprise. Definitely put me in the Christmas spirit, too.

Oliva Serie V... are those cigars any good? Just kidding of course they are excellent!

I too think coffee is my first choice when smoking a Serie V. Vizcaya Rum would be my second choice. And if I am in the mood for a beer I think a Left Hand Milk Stout or a Youngs Double Chocolate Stout would be my choice to go with a Serie V.

Awesome! I love trying pairings out with cigars and beer is a favorite of mine to pair. (Port is too if you want to give it a thought as well, a nice tawny port with a padron is a favorite of mine).

I tend to be very fond of Belgian ales, though I will say Kostritzer is a German beer I admire for its crisp light texture but flavorful beer (it looks like a Guiness at sight but nowhere near the thick texture of one).

I try to go with a lighter style beer (like a grand cru) for my milder cigars, and get more adventurous with my more medium to full bodied cigars on the various beers, since I know they can handle them better. I never want to overpower my cigar, only compliment it.

Let me know what you try and what your thoughts are, I would love to hear your experiences!

Greetings!
I was wondering if you will be posting more information on beers that go well with cigars. I don't drink often but when I do I drink beer. After I read the above comments I checked my cigar binder. Sure enough, I entered the Chimay Blue Reserve and the ST. Bernardus as two brews I want to try with a cigar. These two beers were reviewed last month on another site.

I would appreciate any and all suggestions. I have a two week Winter Break coming up so I will have time to experiment.

~love and gratitude~

One of my favorites, too, Cigar Inspector! I think it has a lot of options for great pairings, and this one was a welcoming treat. Another to consider would be the St. Sebastiaan Dark or one of my personal favorites, the Chimay Blue Reserve.

Ooh, I do love eggnog! Could be an interesting mix, but definitely in the season's spirit. Roasting marshmallows over the fire always makes me think of this time of year, too. A little Christmas spice in the coffee might be nice too, cinnamon and nutmeg maybe.

Welcome, Jacob! What great timing, and I look forward to you enjoying your Oliva Serie V. If you are looking for some more full flavors I think you will be delighted. Let me know your thoughts- have a great one!
