It is December 5th and I want to wish you a very happy Repeal Day! What exactly is repeal day and what does it have to do with enjoying cigars?

Repeal Day celebrates our freedom to consume alcoholic beverages; December 5th, 1933 is the date the 18th amendment was repealed, ending prohibition and returning our freedom to enjoy this luxury.

Now, the luxury of enjoying a cigar is not being permitted in more and more areas, making this a precious freedom worth fighting for. For me, Repeal Day is a great reminder of how wonderful it is we can celebrate these luxuries and how we must defend the right to have them.

Even if you are not a drinker, I think you can find appreciation in this holiday through the appreciation you have for your cigars.  Personally as an admirer of both, as seen in my last cigar pairing with a Belgian Ale, I find great appreciation in this day and one I would love to see made more official.

In the meantime I think it is important we fight for our freedom to smoke in any way we can, such as becoming a member of the Cigar Rights of America (CRA).
